The Snake River Birds of Prey Conservation Area

The Snake River Birds of Prey Conservation Area was established in 1993 to protect a unique environment that supports one of the world's densest concentrations of nesting birds of prey. Falcons, eagles, hawks, and owls are all typical to this area. This unique area encompasses 485,000 acres and hosts about 800 pairs of falcons, eagles, hawks and owls that come here each spring to mate and raise their young. We came here 3-years ago and since then Braden has become extremely interested in birds of prey.

We arrived too late in the day (and season, apparently) to see any birds today, which was disappointing to all of us. Next year we will plan to come on a spring morning instead of a summer afternoon. Atleast it was beautiful area to look at.

And, because I'm such a good mom, I took the kids by the weekend teenage party hang-out place: Kuna Cave. The inside had garbage strung around, was black and smelled of smoke because of all the fires that are lit in there. Not the most uplifting of places but now my kids can say they've seen it!
