Our Baby is TWO

This has been a year of huge growth for Ryen. He started the year saying, "nye-nye" and ended saying, "Don't wanna go to bed", or, "No night, night". There was the weird and scary stage when he seemed to prefer eating oven cleaner, glass cleaner, dish soap and toothpaste over regular food. He is a very busy boy. In one afternoon he managed to empty the drawer under the dryer and roll back and forth in it, pull the DVD's out of the entertainment center and throw them around, throw the empty plastic storage containers from the cupboard to the kitchen floor, rip my plant leaves to shreds, dump peaches on the floor and tried cleaning toilets with Braden and Hansen's toothbrushes. It can be frustrating to keep up with him sometimes. He makes up for it when he requests a hug and kiss at bedtime, says, "sorry", "thank you, momma", or "you okay, Braden?". He always gets a laugh out of me when we are playing around and he says, "Oh yeah, tuff-dye".
This year's major accident was when he fell out of his high-chair and chipped his tooth. He got MANY other bumps, bruises, scrapes, scratches and goose-eggs throughout the year as well.
The day of his b-day we stayed home and played with toys. The presents were opened so slowly it took all day to enjoy each of them; just as it should be. We enjoyed balloons, cake and ice cream, and marked his height on the growth wall. That ended the celebration of his 2nd year.
Favorite Things:
  • His blankets. He can't sleep without them. There have been a couple times when his blankets were in the wash at bedtime. Now if he can't find them he will ask, "a bwanket, wash?"
  • The tub.
  • Going out on the boat.
  • Water, dirt and mud.
  • "Hot Cany" (wintergreen Life-Savers)
  • "Smawnee's" (Smarties)
  • Suckers

Favorite Food:

  • Go-Gurt
  • Popsicles
  • Chocolate ice cream
  • Peanut Butter (just plain)
  • Pretzels
  • Marshmallows (mellos)

Favorite Songs:

  • Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
  • Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam
  • Mary Had A Little Lamb
